"reminded of something" by Robin Thomas (Cinnamon Press, 2023)

Poems from Acumen, The High Window, Stand, Rialto, North, etc.

I'm struggling. There are poems from magazines I've been happy to have poem in, but I have trouble working out how to read the pieces. As an example take "Houseproud" (After Larkin, 'Home is so sad') - a house complains about its residents, wanting their help to remain neat and well maintained. At the end (the poem's nearly 30 lines long) it hopes the next lot will be more respectful. I don't know how to go beyond the plain meaning.
