"The Devil's Cut" by Marianne Burton (Smiths Knoll, 2007)

Quite a dense collection, and no great surprize that it's a Poetry Book Society Summer 2007 Pamphlet Choice. There's a loose villanelle and a looser (though volta'd) sonnet. All the rest are regularly chopped into 2, 3 or 4-line stanzas except for "The Roses" and "The Baby" which are slightly irregular. Um.
