"A House for Mr Biswas" by VS Naipaul (Andre Deutsch, 1961)
Yes, a tragi-comedy with nice touches on nearly every page. Not my sort
of novel though. Interesting how little of the West Indes I've heard about
manages to get into the novel. It feels very Indian.
