"Panoramic Lounge-bar" by John Stammers (Picador, 2001)

Quickly read and I probably didn't do it justice. Beyond me mostly - 'The Infanta of Castile rides out with leopard, parrot and mandolin' sounded as if it was going to be obscure, and it was. 'Where is the rest of my horse' has 4 stanzas all with the line endings 'across/O/eyes/a-head/per-ambulation/rub'. Liked 'Testimony' the most.

  1. Why even put this 'review' up? The book warrants much, much more than this.
    A great book/debut, and one I read and re-read.
